Indoor maps are a great tool for your organization. But let’s address some concerns that you might have. Perhaps you’re worried about having private, out-of-bounds areas on display, for everyone to see? Or maybe there are areas such as store cupboards or maintenance routes that just aren’t relevant to the majority of your map users?
MazeMap has a solution for you!
Our platform allows you to create multiple map views of the same space. This means that you have the ability to grant different user groups with different access permissions.
For example, you can choose to display different map views for employees versus visitors from outside of your organization. For employees, you might want to highlight staff rooms, locker rooms, and other private areas that will be useful to them. For visitors, you have the option to only show the public spaces that can be accessed without a key card.
For educational institutions, different permissions can be set-up for students, staff, and visitors. Whereas visitors will just be able to see public spaces, students and staff will be able to see areas such as residence halls and staff rooms. Staff can book lecture halls and classrooms, whereas students can be limited to booking study spaces, desks, and meeting rooms. For visitors, these options can be hidden from the map altogether.
By keeping private or sensitive areas of your building off of the public maps, you’re better able to keep your buildings safe and secure. Different map views, points of interest, and routes can be displayed differently for different user groups based on how your maps are set up.
You can also set your cleaning personnel up with a map that shows them only their working route, with all of the relevant supply cupboards marked out along the way. For service personnel, you can choose to display only the service areas that they will need to use.
Map views are easy to implement and access to different map views can be granted by sending people links with a built-in token, via IP range so that only those logging into certain WiFi networks can gain access, via single sign-on (SSO) or via a mobile app.
