MazeMap is a global provider of indoor map and navigation services. We are a 4-year- old start-up from NTNU with offices in Trondheim, Palo Alto, Melbourne, London and Odessa, and we already work with customers on all continents. Our goal is making indoor maps as ubiquitous as outdoors maps. The only way to achieve this is through automation, and we aim to be the first provider fully automating the process of creating indoor maps. As of today, our machine learning fueled service helps our users close to 300 000 times per month across 13 countries.

We currently have open positions for a Software Developer and a CFO.

Software Developer

We seek a software developer that can help us to further develop our indoor map service. You will join our development team in Trondheim where you will take part in developing a commercial product used globally.

Technology we use include JavaScript, Python, MapBox, Leaflet, REST and Git. We try to develop our software according to good software development practices in an agile manner, we test our code and we do code reviews. 


  • You enjoy programming. 
  • You are interested in developing both the user facing parts of our software as well as the server code running in the cloud. 
  • You share our excitement of developing products that are used every day by people all over the world.
  • You like working in a team, as you know that we get so much more done when we work together and pull in the same direction.
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken English as it is our working language.
  • You have experience in coding JavaScript or Python, preferably both.
  • You might have experience in programming geographical information systems or software that rely on maps. 
  • You might have experience in computer graphics or computer vision. 
  • You might have experience in developing mobile applications (iOS, Android).
  • You might have a Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or any related domain.

We are looking for a fast-learning individual with minimum 3 years of relevant education to join our team as a part time CFO. This is a unique possibility to get first-hand experience working as a CFO. You’ll oversee the economics of the company, work directly with the company’s management and report to the CEO. A perfect position for an ambitious and hardworking individual studying economics, technology and management.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reporting economics to the board of directors, including attending board meetings when requested
  • Report all financials vs budget for management and perform cost control
  • Perform all invoicing of customers and follow-up for payments
  • Follow-up and aid on all financial transactions including performing supplier registration at customers purchasing departments
  • Budgeting
  • Oversee the accountant (outsourced)

Your qualifications:

  • Excellent at both oral and written communication
  • A fast-learning individual
  • Education with economics and financial management (current or past)
  • Technical understanding

The role will be a part time position (25-30 %), and would require minimum one working day at MazeMap’s offices (Solsiden Trondheim). Working language will be a combination of English and Norwegian. We want to fill this position from august 2017 or earlier depending on your availability.
